The sun was actually shining AND Dan actually had a day off so we decided to go hiking. Hiking with a 2 year old is quite the experience. As it turned out we took 20 minutes just getting to the trail head and then decided it was too steep for Lily and myself. But we sure had a fun time getting there and back to the car!!
Lily loved seeing all the bugs. She stomped on one (luckily it was just a wood chip) and that led to the explanation that this is the bug's home and we need to not hurt them. Dan and I laughed when a potato bug rolled up in front of her and a few minutes later unrolled. She jumped back in fright!
This is the "aren't I cute" smile. I love it!
In this picture she looked over at her Daddy.

Water was her favorite thing. She loved to watch the "bubbles" as it rushed down the bank.
This little spring was right off the pathway.
THE SPRING & THE CAVE
Since we didn't hike very long we decided to head to a Spring right up the canyon. It's water that comes straight out of a rock! Above the spring is a cave. It was fun to climb up into it.
Playing in the spring water. It was cold!

Dan in the middle of the spring water. It took him awhile to figure out how to get back.
Lily and Mommy down by the rushing water.
After the hiking we went and had a bbq. It was a good "Memorial Day" celebration for Dan who had to work while we were playing.
