Happy Easter

For Easter we went to the Langstraat's home for a great chicken, potatoes, cheesecake dinner....and of course the deviled eggs! It was great to be with great friends where we are both so far away from family.

Here are pix of Lily in her Easter dress & bloomers!! I loved the outfit. She loved the bunny!! Happy Easter!!

While Dan was Scouting...

Lily didn't care too much about the hunt but she loved to be outdoors!

Sweet Brianna was excited to see what was inside the egg!

Lily totally dug her Easter Basket (this is actually Brianna's basket since I left Lily's in the car)!

Lily having a "thinking" moment...did the egg come first or the chicken?

Lily didn't smile but she didn't cry either!!

What cute girls!

...Lily and I had a slumber party with Erin and Brianna Langstraat. Erin's hubby, Chad, is the Assistant Varsity Scout Leader so he was camping as well. The weekend didn't go very smoothly as both girls (Lily & Brianna) were tired and grumpy for a lot of the time. The happiest time of the weekend was the Easter Egg Hunt where we got candy & to see the Easter Bunny! Also, for my birthday, Erin took me out to lunch at the Macaroni Grill which has amazing food. Thanks Erin!!

Dan's Scout Trip

Dan was called to be the Varsity Scout Leader a couple of months ago. He immediately began planning a snow caving trip, much to the chagrin of the dads in his group. The boys were "hecka" excited, though. The first trip in January was canceled because of the lack of snow. The trip in February was canceled because there was a huge snow storm the weekend that they were supposed to go (snow and driving in CA don't mix well). The third trip that was supposed to be this last weekend was changed because the snow all melted!! Moral of the story: it's practically impossible to execute a snow trip in CA!!

Anyways, Dan's group ended up joining up with another ward to go camping. They had a blast!! Dan and one of his Scouts had a great time making this hammock with just ropes and a little imagination.

Working out in the Yard

We were working on the yard & since Lily wouldn't go to sleep, she got to come outside with us. She loves to be outside! There is so much to see that often her head flips from left to right really fast. Some of these pictures make us think that she is a little Easter Egg!!

Miscellaneous Pix

Lily and Daddy resting while they wait for Mommy to finish work.

Lily's first time sitting in the front of the cart & her first time in Lowe's.

Lily loves to read Popular Science right now!

It's lame when Mommy drops oatmeal on Lily's head!

Lily resting in her crib.

There are so many pictures of Lily that don't fit into categories. Here are some miscellaneous pictures.

Let's Be Friends

Lily was sick with the stomach flu last week so we took her into the pediatrician. The wait was long so we entertained Lily with mirror. She thought the baby in the mirror was so cute! Stomach flu for babies can sometime last up to 10 days!! We were glad that she finally got better on her 7th day.

Solid Foods!!

We have started to dabble a bit in the solid food world. She has been licking things like bananas for awhile but had her first rice cereal and was very excited about it. She knows exactly what to do with her spoon. Her first time eating was more of her tasting it & spitting it out but she is getting better as time goes on.

If anyone wants to see a video of her eating, let me know. I will email it to you. It was too big to put on the site.

Car Damage

We went to our friend's house to play games & came out to find our car looking like this (see below). It was some kind of a paint. We called the cops who told us that they are only available to take this kind of report Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. I guess there are more important crimes in our area to attend to!! Another guy's car in the neighborhood had been hit with the same paint. He was roaming around the neighborhood looking for the culprit & wasn't going to rest until he found who dun it. We got all the paint off our car, luckily!! (I'm sure that Dan would want me to mention that the only reason we got all the paint off was that Dan used his fingernail to gently scrape it up. It only took him two long, tedious hours!!)

Karaoke!!

I sent out a mass email to everyone that I know in the Sacramento area to go karaokeying at a local pizza place. It was an absolute blast!! We were a little worried about how
Lily would handle the loud music, but as you can see she did just fine. Here are some pictures to commemorate the occasion.

Hands, Feet, & Rolling Over

Ever since Lily was born she has hated laying on her tummy unless she was laying on me or her daddy. Lately, though, she has rolled over onto her tummy twice!! It has been pretty exciting. She has found her feet & loves to play with them as she rolls back and forth.
When she gets tired of that she plays with her hands. Her hands are the best entertainment she has. She never tired from them.
She now likes to play on her tummy but tires easily. This is her being REALLY tired after playing on her play mat.

Jumper

We borrowed a jumper from our friends for Lily to try out. We wanted to make sure she would like it before we bought one for her. Well, first of all, she couldn't reach the ground so I put a pillow underneath her. She loved being able to stand without someone having to help her. All went well until...

She hit the side of the doorway. At first I didn't think she was going to cry but then she realized what happened and started wailing!!
So the verdict is still out on the jumper. I think she'll like it when she gets a bit bigger.

To The Park

Erin (my walking partner) decided to take our girls to the park down the street from our houses. It was a huge success!
Lily, Brianna, & her doll loved the swings

She did NOT, however, enjoy the grass. She tried to sit up as soon as I layed her down. She was happy to look at it but was not about to lay in it again!

Jason & Lily sitting on Ellie's lap....

Lily and Jason were born 8 weeks apart. Everyone at my work thinks they look like they are related. Does everyone agree? Aren't these pix so cute!! We know Jason through his mom & dad. We were neighbors with them in Folsom.

Memphis vs. Tennesse Game

Our friends just moved from TN so the Memphis/TN game was huge for them. They are fans of Memphis (Chad grew up there). This game was pretty huge--Memphis was in 1st place, TN in 2nd. Well Memphis ended up losing. As you can see by the pix, it was a pretty intense game with a sad ending. They have a projector screen to watch TV on so it was like we were at the game!!
