I have a list of things I want to do before we move from the Sacramento area. One of the things on my list has been to go to a Jazz/Kings game. A couple of weeks ago the Jazz were coming into town so we decided to buy a couple $10 tix and enjoy the game.
Well right before I left for work I heard my boss asking another coworker if she wanted two tickets to the game. She didn't. I told my boss that if no one else wanted them then I would take them. He was more than willing to give them to me. I about died when I saw where we would be sitting--section 121 row K!! So basically we were 11 rows up from the court and we were right behind the Jazz hoop!! We also got a free parking pass. I couldn't believe our luck!! Thank you, Kevin!
When we got there I had to explain to everyone around us that while i liked the Kings I loved the Jazz and would be cheering for them that night. Everyone was very understanding.
Not only were the Jazz there but the Kings were retiring Chris Webber's number! the old team was down on row 1, 10 rows in front of us! It was so fun to see the old players like Doug Christie and Vlade Divac.
The Jazz ended up winning by 4 points. I was actually pretty sad. There were so pretty bad calls that were called in the Jazz's favor. The poor Kings have had such a rough year. The Kings played hard and deserved to win.
Here are some pix of the game and the half time show. They aren't the best pix but they give you a pretty good idea of our vantage point.
Chris Webber, family and friends watch as his jersey is retired.
Chris Webber. The blue jacket belonged to a security guard. His hand went up when he thought I was getting too close to Chris.
The old team players and their families.
Kevin Johnson (Sacramento mayor) heading to his seat. I wonder if we as Sacramento citizens are paying for his ticket? Lucky us.
