Oh Dear!

So Lily, me, Dan, my mom and Travis were all sitting around our new apartment (we've moved from the Mecham house!!) eating lunch. I can't remember what happened...I think I dropped something on the new carpet. Anyways, without thinking I said:

"Oh, crap!"

Lily automatically said "Crap."

Wow, what a good example I am! It sounds so much worse coming from a 20 month old! That is definitely a word I will never say again.

Anyways, just something else for the blog journal...or is this this something we don't want to remember? =0)

What Do Y'all Think?

I need new glasses! So far these are my faves. The pix isn't too great but hopefully you'll get the general idea.

Let me know if you do or don't like them.

My mom is a definite NO. She thinks they are too dark...and squarish...and big.

Building the Fence Again

Dan had to go to Dietrich for a couple more days to finish building a fence. Lily and I were up for a little adventure so we decided to tag along.

We camped out in The Valley. We had a sleeping bag for Lily but she slept all of 2 minutes in it. Oh, well. It was cold so we were happy to all cuddle together in our sleeping bag bed.

This is right before Lily's first ride on a 4 wheeler. She was pretty excited (as you can tell by the look on her face). Dan went really slow so she did okay. Later Dan's cousin took Lily and I on a ride and she went really fast. Lily didn't like that so much but she survived!

Lily really bonded with her older cousins. They carried her around wherever she wanted to go. Have I mentioned that we are SO glad to be closer to family again?

SWIMMING!

Lily went swimming again! This time we went to the public pool in town. It's our city's celebration this week so got in for really cheap. Lily liked this pool a lot better.

We had fun because we saw a lot of friends we hadn't seen in a long time. Dan even saw some friends he knew in Moscow, ID! They bought a house not too far from us so that is pretty exciting! I also saw a friend from my freshman year in college, Marla. I couldn't remember how I knew here but she remembered my last name and that we were neighbors at Bridgerland. Talk about a sharp memory!

Swimming & Conversing

(There are 2 other posts below)
I had to make sure to write these things down so I don't forget them.
We took Lily swimming for the first time since last July. She didn't like it one bit. She cried and cried and continually pointed to the dressing room door. The funniest part for me was when Dan went off the diving board. She cried and cried because she didn't know where he had gone! It took Dan jumping twice before she figured out that he wasn't going to disappear forever.

This morning my dad came into the kitchen. Lily turned around and said:
"Hi."
Grandpa: "How are you?"
Lily: "Good."
Her first conversation!!

Weddings Galore!

We have been going wedding crazy the past couple of weeks!

The first wedding we were able to attend was Dan's niece, Kayla, and her now hubby Patrick. They were married May 23, 2009 in the SLC Temple. We are so excited for them!

The reception that night was really fun. It was fun to see a lot of Dan's family that we haven't seen in forever! My favorite part was when they did a Hispanic wedding dance. It was the longest dance I've ever danced! It was really fun to learn. Congrats Kayla & Patrick! We are happy for you.

On May 30, 2009 we headed to Mike and Robyn's wedding (R-how do I spell your name? I'm such an idiot!) in Twing Falls. Robyn is Dan's cousin. We hadn't seen her in probably 3 years! We are glad she has found such a great guy.

The luncheon was fun afterwards because we got to talk with some of Dan's cousins that he hasn't seen in years! I hadn't met one of his favorite cousins so it was great to meet him and his wife.

It was so fun to see his aunts and uncles again, too!

While in Twin Falls we stayed with my cousin Kaylene and her family. We hadn't ever been to their house. It was fun to get to know her hubby and kids better. Lily loved Lil M and they cried when we had to leave! In between weddings and receptions we dropped by Shoshone Falls. It was beautiful! We can't wait to go back! Thanks for letting us stay with you Kay & Michael!

We have one more wedding this weekend....this time my little brother Eric is getting married! He is marrying a family friend, Christy Finlayson. We lived next door to the Finlaysons for many, many years. In January Eric went to Christy's mission welcome home to represent the family as we couldn't be there. Eric and Christy hadn't really talked since they were 4 years old but they sure hit it off!! Well...obviously. We are so happy for them!

How blessed we are to be so close to family! We really missed it when we lived in CA. It's great to be back!
